Features and restrictions of mobile messaging vary around the world depending on regulations, routes used and operators. When sending messages to different countries, customers are obligated to comply with all applicable regulations and requirements pertaining to that country. For example, some destinations block certain types of sender IDs, some need you to whitelist a sender ID before sending and others even require both sender ID and content to be registered before sending.   To find out information about what type of messaging is supported in a certain country, we recommend you visit the Country Information section of the Sinch Customer Dashboard, which details regulatory and compliance information for most countries to help you communicate successfully with those countries.   One of the things that makes Sinch a leader in the mobile messaging market is our vast number of direct connections to different countries. When you create an account on the Sinch Customer Dashboard , a default project is automatically created for you with an associated ProjectID. Projects are used to group resources such as contacts and apps together to manage and connect a unique set of keys and secret IDs for all your Sinch API products. Contacts are shared across apps within the same project.   Depending on your requirements, you may need to create additional projects to keep contact lists separate.   Accessing your Projects Log in to the Sinch Customer Dashboard. You can easily access all your projects from the Project top menu. Click the Project menu at the top left of the screen:   A list of your projects is displayed. If you have multiple projects then you can search for your project or the project ID in the search field at the top of the project list.   Your current project is highlighted (in yellow and with a tick mark). If you click the options icon (three vertical dots)  to the right of the current project name, you can see all the details of your project:   See the Project Details section below to learn more.   To manage your projects or to add a new project, click View all projects. The Projects page is displayed.   Note: If you are unable to view and manage your projects - please reach out to your Sinch Account Manager or contact our Online Team.   Managing Projects The Projects page is used to manage your projects:   The Projects page allows you to: View you all your existing projects and PROJECT IDs and information about when the projects were created See the details for each project Switch between your projects Create new projects. Viewing Project Details To view all the details of your project, click the options icon (three vertical dots highlighted in red above) corresponding to the project you are interested in:   The project details panel contains the following information and options: Project ID Displays the Project ID. To copy the Project ID to your clipboard, click the copy icon . General Settings Configure the project settings including changing the project name. Users View the list of existing users for your selected project and invite new users.  Access keys Shows you the access keys for your selected project. Learn more about access keys and how Sinch uses them. Subprojects Displays the Subprojects page , which allows you to view the subprojects for your current project and to create additional subprojects. Sinch uses Access keys (tokens) to authenticate users. These tokens can be obtained from an OAuth2 token endpoint, which supports the client_credentials flow where a client_id and client_secret are used to authenticate the calling party.   An access key is comprised of: KEY ID - The client_id is referred to as KEY ID and is your API key. When sending a call through the API, it lets us know which account to bill. KEY SECRET - The client_secret is referred to as the KEY SECRET and is an extra layer of security which is only visible when you create an access key. Important: When you create an Access key, note down your KEY SECRET carefully as this is only displayed when you create the Access key. If you lose your KEY SECRET (formerly called the secret ID) you will need to generate a new access key. SMS Messaging uses a Service Plan ID and API Token for authentication. Read the SMS Service Plan IDs and API Tokens article to learn more.   Where can I find my Access Keys (KEY ID and KEY SECRET)? Log in to the Sinch Customer Dashboard. If you're using the beta version of our Customer Dashboard, click your profile icon then click Access Keys:  The Account menu is displayed on the left. Click the Access Keys option: If you are using the legacy dashboard, click Settings on the left menu, then click Access keys: The Access keys page is displayed. This page shows your project(s) and corresponding Project ID(s) and a list of your Access keys and the corresponding KEY IDs. How do I create new Access Keys?   To create a new Access Key from the Access keys page:   In the Access key list section, click NEW KEY to create a new key. The New Access Key form is displayed: Enter a display name for your key and click CONFIRM. The Key is created and the Key ID & Key Secret form is displayed: Copy the Key ID and Key Secret. Click CONFIRM. Important! – You must copy and store the Key Secret that is generated. You won't be able to retrieve it again once you’ve created the key. When you create an account in the Sinch Customer Dashboard, it is created as a Trial account. Trial accounts allow you to try out Sinch products and services, but they have certain limitations: You will only receive 2 units of your country’s currency as a test credit, for example, $2 USD for US based accounts. You can only send unrestricted text messages to your own verified numbers in SMS, otherwise the content will be replaced by a test template. You cannot buy Numbers, you can only test using a test Number that is provided by Sinch. Certain destinations may not allow you to send test messages. Certain channels and services are locked to Trial accounts. When sending SMS messages, using either the Sinch SMS API or the Conversation API with an SMS channel, you need an API Token and Service Plan ID to authenticate calls to the API. These tokens are created automatically in the Customer Dashboard with each service plan. A Service Plan is assigned to you when you create an account on the Customer Dashboard.   Where can I find my Service Plan ID and API Token   To find your Service Plan ID and API Token: Log in to the Sinch Customer Dashboard. Select SMS from the left menu and select the APIs option. The Service APIs page is displayed: This page shows you your Service Plans.  Your Service Plan ID is displayed in the SERVICE PLAN ID column. Your API Token is available in the API TOKEN column but is partially obscured for security. Click Show to reveal it in its entirety. If you want to top up your Sinch account, follow the simple steps below to add credit to your account:   Log in to the Sinch Customer Dashboard: Click the ADD CREDITS button in the top bar.   The Add Credits page is displayed: Select the amount of credit you would like to add to your account. You can select the predefined amounts of €10, €20, or €50 or you can specify an amount of your own choice in the Custom Amount field. Mastercard, Visa and PayPal are accepted payment methods. Additionally in the USA, if you previously upgraded your account using American Express (AMEX) then you can also use AMEX as an accepted payment method. Note: The amount shown in the Summary section does not include local taxes which will be displayed on the next page. Click CONTINUE. You are then requested to confirm your Billing Information: Enter the billing information requested. Note: If you have already entered your billing information you can either choose to select or edit your existing billing information. Once you are satisfied your billing information is correct, click SAVE AND CONTINUE. The Payment method page is displayed: Sinch accepts the following payment methods: Payment Method Minimum top up Notes Card payment (Mastercard or Visa) €10 If you plan to use this card again you have the option to save this card for future purchases. Bank transfer €100   PayPal €10     Select your payment method and enter the payment information requested on the page. The Summary section shows the total amount that you must pay and includes Taxes which are dependent on the county of billing (which you confirmed on the previous page). Note: Your payment will be taken securely via Ayden and your information is protected by 256-bit SSL encryption. Click COMPLETE PAYMENT to confirm the payment.   You will be redirected to additional payment pages related to the payment method selected. For example, for credit card payments, you will be redirected through Ayden to your credit card’s 3D security pages. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your payment. Sinch has released a package of nodes for Node-RED, which integrates with Sinch Voice API and enables you to initiate and receive phone calls.   Node-RED is a flow-based, low-code development tool for visual programming for wiring together hardware devices, APIs and online services.  It provides a web browser-based editor that makes it easy to wire together flows using the wide range of nodes in the palette that can be deployed to its runtime in a single-click.     Sinch Voice nodes consists of four nodes:   Incoming Call node Handles and routes inbound voice calls from the Sinch Voice API for a specific application and Sinch number. Voice Call node Initiates an outbound voice call using the Sinch Voice API. DTMF Answer node Captures the DTMF (Dual Tone Multi Frequency) keypad (0-9, * and #) input from the user response. When you have imported a number to Sinch or are hosting a number with Sinch and delete the number then this action will trigger the immediate release of the number, because these numbers are classed as are BYON (bring your own numbers) and can be reimported or re-hosted if/when needed. To delete an imported number or a hosted number, take the following steps: Select Numbers from the left menu and click the SMS hosting US/Canada option. Select the HOSTED & IMPORTED NUMBERS tab. When you purchase a number from Sinch and then decide to release (or delete) the number, Sinch will wait until end of the current billing cycle before releasing the number. During this interim period (before the end of the current billing cycle) the number may still be recoverable in certain scenarios. Following the end of the billing cycle the number will be placed into quarantine for 10 days, after which time the number will be made "available" for new customers.   To release a Sinch number, take the following steps:   Select Numbers from the left menu and click the Your virtual numbers option. The Your virtual numbers page is displayed: This page displays a list of your virtual numbers. Click on the number you want to release. The number details page is displayed: Click RELEASE NUMBER to release the number. Recovering a released number In certain scenarios a released number may still be recoverable: If you released a number but then they decided you still want to keep it If you want to recover a previously deleted number that is no longer active.
