This article outlines several number delete scenarios and delete lifecycles.

When as a Sinch customer, you delete a number, the number will go through one of the following number delete life cycles, depending on how you added the number to Sinch:

  1. Imported Numbers or hosted numbers (aka BYON):  A number delete action triggers immediate release of numbers, because these are BYON (Bring your own numbers) and can be reimported or re-hosted if/when needed. No need to quarantine these.Avanish_Pande_0-1692214565140.png

Refer to the Deleting an imported or hosted number from Sinch article, to learn how to delete an imported or hosted number from Sinch.

  2. Sinch numbersfrom our Sinch inventory, used by non "self serve" countries in dashboard & API, when released/deleted by customer, waits until end of billing cycle with flag as “cancelled” but it’s recoverable for customer until end of billing cycle, and then gets into quarantine for 10 days, and then gets "available" for new customers after 10 days of quarantine.

  3. Sinch numbers, from our "Just in time" automated inventory, used by our "self serve" countries in Sinch dashboard & API,  for example, USA, when released/deleted, waits until end of billing cycle with flag as “cancelled” but its recoverable for customer until end of billing cycle, and then goes into quarantine for 45 days & it’s not recoverable for customer during this quarantine period. After quarantine period ends the numbers are made available for any customer.

  4. A “suspended” number, occurs when the number has used up all its credit and does not have any funds to be used until funds are replenished. Such numbers can be restored back to normal upon payment of dues, restoring credit etc within a billing cycle. After the billing cycle ends, these “suspended” numbers would also go on unretrievable quarantine. After quarantine period ends the numbers are made available for any customer.
