How do I assign a virtual number to an SMS channel?

A virtual number can be assigned to an existing SMS channel. This is the number recipients will see when that SMS channel is used to send an SMS message.

Note: A new SMS channel is automatically created for every new user. If you need create a new SMS channel, see our How do I create a new SMS channel? article.

To assign a number to an SMS channel:

1. Log in to the Sinch Build Dashboard.
   
   
2. Select Numbers from the left menu and select the Your Numbers option. The Your virtual numbers page is displayed:
   
   
   
   Click the number to be associated with the SMS channel.
   
   
3. The configuration options for the number are displayed:
   
   
   
   Ensure you have the SMS tab selected click Edit.
   
   
4. A drop-down list of existing SMS channel IDs (represented here by Sms App IDs) is displayed:
   
   
   
   Select the appropriate SMS App ID and click Save.
   
   

Your number is now assigned to that SMS channel. Ensure that the SMS channel is connected to the correct Conversation API app in order to send and receive SMS messages.
