Does anyone have any experience using Contact Pro/Communication Panel and Asterisk over WebRTC? Does it work at all?

Hi Piotr,

We do use a lot of Asterisk as a VoIP GW in front of Sinch CC, but for WebRTC we have always preferred Kamailio.

Asterisk just did not have the necessary options.

If help needed to setup Kamailio, let us know. We have experience with single and multi server environments with automated failover.

We have extensive experience with both Asterisk and Kamilio + RTPEngine setup, the latter being more robust than Asterisk approach.

Hey,

I haven't heard from on-premises customers that they would use Asterisk for WebRTC or even that a customer would have interest for the solution. From development point of view, we recommend Audiocodes or the solution Roman & Ekke mentioned.

If a on-premises customer is seeking for a non Audiocodes solution, please contact Roman directly.

We have On-Premise only and are using AudioCodes. Have been using for a few years now. Costs a kidney, but haven't had any issues other than our own hickups.

Hi Alder, we also use Audiocodes in most of our onprem installations but the problem is that from 2026 Audiocodes changes licensing policy and webRTC will be availabe in subscription model only which is not very convenient for onprem customers 😕 That's why we look for some alternatives.

Hi Piotr,

please, double check with your AudioCodes representative. We have done the same and you are right, however, from Q2/2026 the license key option for WebRTC should be back again 🙂. This is apparently based on feedback from customers... 😉..

good news, we'll check. Thanks Dawood.
