Before you can message a customer using WhatsApp, you must collect their opt-In consent to comply with both WhatsApp requirements and GDPR regulations. This can be done via Online, SMS, Email etc. Each time Sinch sends a message template on your behalf, we check that the opt-In is still valid.
Because the first message preceding Opt-in must be a template message, that message has already been approved by WhatsApp and therefore the Block and Mark as Spam options are not available.
