RCS P2P is available on all Android devices. In September 2024 Apple began to roll out RCS to iPhones as part of iOS 18. It is not available in all regions or on all carriers but will continue to expand. Apple has a list of support for RCS by carrier here.
RCS for Business is also available on Android phones. On October 28, 2024, Apple released iOS 18.1, which included RCS for Business support but limited to a few markets and carrier dependent. Even in Apple's priority markets, one carrier in that country might be “turned on” while another carrier is not. In December 2024, this became available in more markets like the UK on Three UK and Virgin Media O2 with the iOS 18.2 release.
We expect additional roll out in 2025, but no time plan has been shared. Note that Apple has not confirmed this, and we should not promise this to customers, but unofficially this is what they can expect.
Note: Both RCS and RCS for Business are in transition from a Google managed service to a Carrier managed service. It is not currently possible to launch RCS agents in all countries or carriers.
