This route is a direct connection to an operator or when the operator the SMS is designated for is located in the same country as the operator you are routing to (for example, usage of T-Mobile UK to deliver an SMS to Vodafone UK). This is often the most expensive, but the most reliable connection. Despite offering good service quality, Direct Routing does not always include standard features such as TPOA, Binary, and UDH.

Dual-tone Multi-frequency (or DTMF) is a way to signal key presses from a phone. These signals can be interpreted by a recipient and used for different purposes. When using DTMF in the Sinch system, Sinch can detect or pass these signals between participants of a phone call.
