Conversation API's consent management functionality allows you to automatically manage opt-in and opt-out mobile originated (MO) messages.

To activate consent management:

  1. Log in to the Sinch Build Dashboard.

  2. Navigate to the Apps tab under Conversation API. The Conversation apps page is displayed:

  3. Click the Conversation API app for which consent management is to be activated. Then, navigate to the Consent Management section and click Edit consent management:

  4. Accept the terms and conditions:

  5. Activate the functionality by clicking the Enable consent management toggle:

  6. Finally, select your Consent processing mode:

    • In Primary mode, any subsequent mobile terminated messages sent to the opted-out recipients will be blocked by Sinch.

       
    • In Secondary mode, no blocking by Sinch is performed. The presence of an opt-in or opt-out keyword triggers the functionality when it is the sole element within an inbound, mobile originated message. The notification will then be sent via the Opt-out, Opt-in webhook triggers. Customers are required to take actions in their triggering application to prevent it from sending future messages to recipients that asked for opt-out.
