What is a WeChat Official Account?

WeChat Official Accounts are used by businesses to connect with WeChat users.

With an Official Account, you can send general information, sales and marketing activities, and special promotions to your users who are following your channel. Your followers will get notified just like when they get a message from their social network. You can also send direct messages to individual WeChat users.

There are three types of account: 

• Subscription accounts – with a subscription account, it is possible to send one message per day, suitable for individuals, news media, companies, government departments or other organizations. Messages will be sent to a subscription folder along with other subscribed channels.
  
  
• Service accounts – using this account will enable businesses to send 4 messages per month to followers, it has features that will allow business the capabilities to quickly reach and serve their customers. Suitable for news media, companies, government departments or other organizations. Messages will appear as a friend in the chat list.
  
  
• Enterprise accounts – Also known as WeChat Work is another type of account for enterprises to use for work communications within employees.
