Sinch provides support for the following Viber APIs using the Conversation API:
Viber Business Messaging - 2Way API |
The Viber Messaging – 2Way API is available for use via the Sinch Conversation API - Rate Card Applies.
This is the only Viber Business Messaging API where a message/conversation may be initiated by the Business. An Electronic Communications Opt-In (With a specific Marketing Opt-In If used for that purpose) is required.
Note: Sinch do not monitor the client Opt-In, but you should be aware that there are sanctions for "Spam Events" which equate to €5000 for each event where the client cannot show correct Opt-In through an audit. The Association is with the Viber User Phone number making it easy to reach the user.
There are different rich message formats – refer to the Conversation API Channel Information – Viber for more information.
Inbound messages and Delivery Status reports are propagated to the Conversation API.
As of October 2021, Viber have introduced a new Unified API. One-Way APIs are no longer available, and all APIs will present a keyboard for reply. Destination countries must be selected (Maximum of 20). Monthly Platform pricing will be the higher of the countries selected.
