Before you can configure SSO, you must add and verify the email domain your users sign in with. Sinch ID verifies ownership by having you add a TXT record to your domain's DNS.

Note: The SSO feature must be enabled for your account before you can add domains. If you do not see an SSO Configuration section in the left navigation menu, contact Sinch support to request access.

To add a domain, take the following steps:

  1. Log in to Sinch ID and navigate to SSO Configuration → Domains:

    Click Connect domain.

  2. The Setup SSO Domain page is displayed:

Enter your domain name (e.g. sinch.com) and click Submit.

Important: Only add domains you own. You will need to add a DNS record to prove ownership.

  3. A confirmation dialog is displayed. Click Confirm to confirm the domain.

  4. Sinch ID generates a unique TXT record. Go to your DNS provider and add it as a TXT record on your domain:

    Click Ok.

  5. Your domain will appear in the list with status In review:

The Domain TXT record has the following fields:

Field

Value

Type

TXT

Host / Name

@ (or your domain root)

Value

sinch-domain-verification=<your-unique-value>

Awaiting verification

DNS propagation can take up to several hours. While the domain is In review, you can:

  • Wait: Sinch ID checks automatically and will update the status once the record is detected.
  • Check DNS: click the Check DNS button next to your domain to trigger an immediate check.

If the check fails, confirm that the TXT record is published correctly and try again after a few minutes.

Domain statuses

The Domain can have one of the following statuses:

Status

Meaning

In review

The domain is awaiting TXT record configuration and propagation.

Verified

The domain is verified and ready to be used to configure SSO.

Configured

The domain is configured and SSO is active.

Removing a domain

To remove a domain, click Remove next to a domain and confirm the prompt. This cannot be undone. If you remove a configured domain, SSO will stop working for users on that domain.
