You can include up to 160 characters in a single SMS message if all characters are part of the GSM7 character set and up to 70 characters if you are using UCS2 (Unicode).
Kindly note that most of the countries and networks also support concatenated messages, which means you can send longer messages if 160 or 70 characters are not enough.

Also, it is important to keep in mind that certain countries, such as Malaysia and South Korea, might need you to include extra characters in the body of your messages according to the messaging regulations for that country.
