FTEU (Free to End User) enables enterprises to send messages in a way that ensures the end user does not get charged by the mobile operator. These fees are paid by the content provider/customer, that is, only the business sending the message is charged for the message. Some businesses, such as banks, healthcare providers and utility companies, choose to send messages as FTEU so that they can ensure their messages reach the subscriber without the subscriber incurring a charge for the message. While many mobile operators offer subscription models with unlimited or “free” texting, there may be exceptions, such as pre-paid accounts.

Example. “FREE MSG:“, meaning that the message doesn’t get charged to the end user's wireless phone bill.
