It seems that a number of countries are unsupported meaning anyone having a mobile number connected to an unsupported network cannot receive SMS notifications. Anyone has an idea what is Sinch's road map in this respect please?

If you use our Country Information tool for SMS in the Sinch Customer Dashboard, you can display information on each country. I looked at New Zealand as an example and it says 2-way SMS is supported but that all services must be approved in advance.
If you require further help, reach out to your account manager, they can help troubleshoot by looking at your account!
