A Project is the primary container for your Sinch resources. Every Sinch Account is created with at least one default project, which serves as the hub for your apps, phone numbers, and product configurations:

A project can have one or more subprojects.

What role does a Project play?

  • Resource Container: Projects are where your Sinch products live. You can provision phone numbers or set up messaging apps directly within a project to keep your activity organized.

  • Parent-Child Relationship: A project sits directly beneath your Sinch Account. While a project can have its own "Subprojects" to further organize resources, a project itself always rolls up to a single top-level Account for billing and high-level management.

  • Isolation: Projects offer a secure way to separate different parts of your business. Resources and access rights are isolated between projects, ensuring that activity in "Project A" does not overlap with "Project B."

Managing your Projects

User Access (Build Portal)

User management is handled at the Project level (or inherited from the Account level).

  • If a user is granted access to a specific Project, they can see all resources and subprojects within that project.
  • They will not have access to any other projects in your account unless explicitly granted permission.

Manual Management

Project management—including the initial setup and configuration of resources—is a manual process performed through the Sinch Build Dashboard. Unlike subprojects, there is currently no API available for the automated creation or management of parent projects.

Availability of Multiple Projects

Most users start with a single default project. The ability to manually create and manage additional projects within the Build portal is currently a feature available for larger implementations managed by a dedicated Sinch Account Manager.

Note: We are aiming to enable the option for all accounts to create a limited number of projects and subprojects via self-service in the future.

Deleting a Project

Currently, project deletion is not a self-service feature in the Build portal. If you need to delete a project, it must be handled as an exceptional case through a support request. We plan to enable self-service deletion within the Build portal in a future update.
