Sinch’s RCS Upscale solution allows businesses to seamlessly transition from SMS to RCS without additional costs or integration changes. For markets with no reach and devices that aren’t RCS-enabled, we proceed with sending SMS instead guaranteeing messaging reach.

 

So, it’s RCS when we can and SMS when we can't, ensuring messages are always delivered!

 

How does it work?

 

  • SMS API customers send their SMS request to Sinch as normal, hence no integration changes for existing customers wanting to onboard to our RCS Upscale solution.  
  • Sinch performs an on-net capability check to determine if the country has RCS coverage and whether RCS Upscale is configured. If the answer is yes, we check whether the contact has an RCS-compatible device.
  • Based on these conditions being met and by performing a capability check upfront, we either send a business message to a customer as RCS (to RCS-enabled devices) or SMS to the rest:

Getting Started with RCS Upscale

 

Step 1 - Request RCS Upscale using the Sinch Build dashboard

  1. Log in to the Sinch Build Dashboard and select the RCS option from the menu in the left panel. The RCS Overview page is displayed.

  2. Scroll down to the Explore RCS for Business section:

    Click Request RCS Upscale.

  3. You will see a confirmation showing you that your request has been sent. Your Sinch Account Manager will contact you when the request has been processed and approved.

Step 2 - Register your RCS Agent

 

Register your RCS Agent using the Sinch Build dashboard and Sinch will support you with setup and launch.
