Person-to-person (P2P) messaging is between friends, and application-to-person (A2P) messaging is used for branded communications between businesses and users.
A2P, or RCS Business Messaging (RBM) includes features not available to ordinary users, including predefined quick-reply suggestions, rich cards, carousels, and branding. This last feature is intended to increase consumer confidence and reduce fraud through the implementation of a verified sender system.
