In most cases, we do not recommend deleting parent Projects, as the deletion process can have unintended consequences depending on which products and services your project is using. Because of this, project deletion is currently not available as a self-service feature within the Sinch Build portal.

Exceptional Cases for Project Deletion

If you have a project that must be removed, this request needs to be handled as an exceptional case through your Sinch Account Manager or our Support Team.

Before a deletion request can be processed, you must ensure the following criteria are met:

  • The project is empty: Typically, deletions are only processed for projects that were created by accident and contain no active resources.
  • No service impact: You have verified that deleting the project will have absolutely no impact on your active services or integrations.
  • Acceptance of risk: You understand that deletion is permanent, and you explicitly accept responsibility for verifying the correct Project ID and the risks of any unintended consequences.

If your project meets these criteria, please contact your Account Manager or Support with the Project ID to initiate the request. Sinch will then proceed and process your request and confirm once the project has been deleted.

Deleting Subprojects

While parent projects have strict deletion limitations, there is a distinction for Subprojects:

  • Build Portal (UI): Like parent projects, subprojects cannot be deleted directly within the portal interface at this time.
  • API Automation: For customers using our subproject automation capabilities (typically resellers), the programmatic deletion of subprojects is supported through the API, making it easier to automatically manage end-customer life cycles.

Future Updates

We understand the need for greater flexibility in managing your workspace. We are aiming to introduce safer, self-service deletion capabilities directly within the Sinch Build portal in a future update.
