Hi, Mohamed, only 1-way outbound SMS is supported in Sri Lanka at the moment.

For your future reference, the Sinch Customer Dashboard contains comprehensive Country Information pages, which detail our SMS services to different countries and contains regulatory and compliance information to help you communicate successfully with different countries.

So Can we get a Australian based mobile number to send the sms from out application!? our users are based on AUS

Hi Mohamed, if you have a Sinch account, there are a couple of ways to get a 2-way Australia number:

Contact your account manager and ask them to order an Australia number

Buy or rent an Australia number through the Sinch Dashboard. The Dashboard allows you to choose the country (Australia in your case) and capability (SMS in your case).

If you are interested in 1-way messaging, you can get an alphanumeric sender ID. Read the following community articles to find out what countries support alphanumeric sender IDs and how to register a sender ID.

and i need to know if we are buy or rent a Australian Number for SMS Can we send the SMS from the Australian number to Sri Lankan numbers ?

Hi Mohamed, unfortunately it's not possible to send an SMS to a Sri Lankan number. Sri Lanka does not support 2-way numbers. It's possible to send SMS messages from Sri Lanka to Australia using alphanumeric sender IDs. You can find out how to register an alphanumeric sender ID by reading our Community article - How to register your alphanumeric sender ID? , or you may contact your account manager. If you want to get an idea of which countries support which services, have a look at our Country Information Dashboard. Our product team tries to keep it as up to date as possible, but Sinch offerings can change, so it's always worth posting on the Community forums!
